Agora (Greek) is an open place for markets and people to assemble for
various purposes, like a town square.
Agorism
- Social philosophy advocating creating a society with voluntary
exchanges and relations between people via aspects of
counter-economics and nonviolent revolution.
Do-ocracy
- An organizational structure in which individuals choose roles and
tasks for themselves and execute them wherein responsibilities attach
to people who do the work, rather than elected or selected officials. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Do-ocracy
FOEPATCHISM
- Fair, Open, Ethical, Peaceful, Accountable, Transparent, Consistent,
Honest, Inclusive Social Management - for collaborators, communities,
families, governments, groups, homes, organizations, social media,
societies, teams, workplaces, etc. "Foe" = enemy; "patch" = correction. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/FOEPATCHISM
Libertas = autonomy, freedom, sovereignty.
Phylaxis
- (medical) The protection against infection.
- (defensive) Guarding against cultural destruction, cyber warfare,
ideological subversion, malicious infiltration, medical tyranny,
political corruption, psychological operations, wealth theft, and
weaponized migration.
Voluntaryism
- Peaceful life without rulers, yet with social rules.
- The common sense idea that all forms of human association should be voluntary...
with the assertion that any act of violence [or coercion] other than self defense,
whether by an individual or organization, is illegitimate and unlawful. - Voluntary interactions - without rulers rather than supporting and suffering
under mafia governments and corporatocracy's monopoly on violence.
This includes what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own wallets,
bedrooms, bodies, businesses, and communities. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Meaningful_liberty#Voluntaryism

The Brownstone Institute is supposed to be a 'Conservative-Libertarian' group.
If we look at this from the point of view of tradiitonal Conservativism (before Radical Reagan Republicans took over), then Assisted Suicide in the US would save an estimated $600 million/year and in the UK, £100 million/year. It's been considered only for the terminally ill who only have a short time to live. Governmental intervention would be minimal, if at all, as medical professionals and immediate family members would manage the assisted suicide. There is the potential to abuse this law, but the benefits outweigh the potential risks at the moment. States (in the US) like Oregon have allowed assisted suicide for the terminally ill. Scotland almost approved an assisted suicide bill in March, but it was rejected.
Yes, killing people is cheaper than treating them. When you have state controlled healthcare there is a perverse incentive to push people towards euthanasia, which we're already seeing take place in Canada.
Plus the government has countless ways to tax the estate.
The UK has state-controlled healthcare but assisted suicide is illegal in the UK. Thus UK families who want this and can afford it will take their relatives to 7 other European countries that allow for assisted suicide, under strict conditions. The motivation is from the family, never the state, AFAIK, though I can see how the state could potentially promote this.
Yep, it's just for the terminally ill.

I think assisted suicide or euthanasia should be an option for the terminally ill, but only for the terminally ill. Not an option for depression or the handicapped. Too many evil fucks who place the value of dollars over human life.
Some mental illnesses, like SSRI "anti"-depressants, are far more torturous than painful diseases, fatal or not.
These SSRI poisons are destroying more lives than the suicides. Address that first.
Agreed with that take. With depressed or handicapped people, that's a medical issue, they probably are fed up with getting no help from the medical industry so just want to end it, so it's the medical industries fault, and it just wants to kill these people off because it's cheaper.
You are advocating prolonged torture.
The establishment has weaponized medicine.
The establishment has weaponized employment.
There are core reasons folks want to turn off the pain with medical, ability, financial, and depression issues.
Let corporate banksters handle it instead.
Everything will be fine.
I think it's really simple. If you own your body, you get to decide if you live or die. If the government can mandate that you not commit suicide then it claims to own your body.
The only thing that complicates it is assisted suicide. Do we want to give license to someone to push the button. I have this question. Why do you need assistence? Just do it yourself. It's not that hard. Next, if assisted, you really should have the person killing themselves push the button.
Third, I don't see what the problem is if you give them power of attourney. They are effectively you, and you can kill yourself. Somehow this is controvercial even though people give power of attourney to family members and they order pushing whatever buttons lead to their death all the time. Somehow you can give authority to a family member to give authority to a doctor to kill you and this is common place and unquestioned. But if you give it directly to the doctor now that's a problem.
The real problem I have with some of these suicides is a socialized medical system encouraging it.
As well as the brainwashing, coercion, deception, manipulation, etc.
