Slightly bigger indent for replies(self)
2 commentsbyLarrySwinger

I get the challenge with the tree style structure: if the indent for replies is too big, you will get narrow bodies quite soon and they have to be tucked away with buttons like on the new reddit skin. But some indent does make it oversightful, you can easily see what is a reply to what. The coloured bars are a nice touch but don't quite suffice. I recommend that the indent is increased just slightly to strike a nice balance.

Fixed. I just applied the 9px nested comment left border theme to everyone. This is why I want to encourage /s/Themes. Then there is likely a solution if something is a common enough annoyance and we have quick easy options.

It might take a second for your browser cache to catch up.

I also added this theme for a chat improvement: https://goatmatrix.net/c/Themes/6Vb8Wbqwg3

Looks better.

I'd try 6px. Why? Consistency. Just like with graphic design (you pick two or three fonts, you pick two or three colours, and don't over do it), you pick two or three treatments for blocking, outlining, and other visual language. Around the "Submit a link" you have a 6px margin and 6px padding. It is irregular to have everything inconsistent. The outline of this "Submit comment" field is 2px with rounded corners, different than the 1px square corners outline for the chat "Send". This field's rounded corners are different than the rounded corners of the comment boxes and the rounded comment name-titles. Sometimes you want different for any number of reasons (impact, importance, proportions, scale, variety, etc.). Style is in the eye of the beholder.

One of these days I'm going to sit down and learn the /s/Themes and CSS and dev a manual on the wiki, and other documentation stuff. Unfortunately currently I'm frustrated with my top 3 timesucking priorities - chasing for money to live on, need to fix up 3 places, then move all my stuff into 2 of them. Plus I need to finish a short film about the Canadian election and want to dev more Freedom Movement stuff. And write screenplays. It's frustrating being motivated. Often as a kid I didn't care about anything.
