Agora (Greek) is an open place for markets and people to assemble for
various purposes, like a town square.
Agorism
- Social philosophy advocating creating a society with voluntary
exchanges and relations between people via aspects of
counter-economics and nonviolent revolution.
Do-ocracy
- An organizational structure in which individuals choose roles and
tasks for themselves and execute them wherein responsibilities attach
to people who do the work, rather than elected or selected officials. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Do-ocracy
FOEPATCHISM
- Fair, Open, Ethical, Peaceful, Accountable, Transparent, Consistent,
Honest, Inclusive Social Management - for collaborators, communities,
families, governments, groups, homes, organizations, social media,
societies, teams, workplaces, etc. "Foe" = enemy; "patch" = correction. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/FOEPATCHISM
Libertas = autonomy, freedom, sovereignty.
Phylaxis
- (medical) The protection against infection.
- (defensive) Guarding against cultural destruction, cyber warfare,
ideological subversion, malicious infiltration, medical tyranny,
political corruption, psychological operations, wealth theft, and
weaponized migration.
Voluntaryism
- Peaceful life without rulers, yet with social rules.
- The common sense idea that all forms of human association should be voluntary...
with the assertion that any act of violence [or coercion] other than self defense,
whether by an individual or organization, is illegitimate and unlawful. - Voluntary interactions - without rulers rather than supporting and suffering
under mafia governments and corporatocracy's monopoly on violence.
This includes what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own wallets,
bedrooms, bodies, businesses, and communities. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Meaningful_liberty#Voluntaryism

I noticed and appreciate the bug fix. Thanks!
I won't mind if it refreshes the front page feed when I vote, unless I'm going back to catch up and lose my spot (this hasn't happened yet). This may change if the site grows under an avalanche of posts.
I won't mind if it refreshes a post when I vote, unless I've started a comment and lose what I've typed (this hasn't happened yet).
I believe it is only on the front page. I am a bit worried about if people are on second, or third pages if the post shift could be higher, and then it would be disorienting.
I've thought about doing a fake refresh like I do when someone hits the register button on the signin when the form is blank. In that case all I do is blank the page for a second and remove the signin button.
With that I could basically only move the post they voted on to give a sense of feedback but guard against everything else moving too much in a disorienting way.
Indeed, I guess everything could shift by votes if you're not on the "New" chronological of three front pages (where I loiter).
An issue with the concept I just noticed is if you have a video open and decide to vote on the post, now your video is reset. So I'll have to block it if a video is open or do the fake refresh.
I did notice a change but kinda subconsciously. I actually find that it feels very wobbly. The vote goes through even though I'm not signed in, then I sign in as per the prompt, then afterwards the vote is gone and I have to vote again. Meanwhile if I say no to the prompt, I get prompted another time for some reason, and if I say no to that as well, the vote does go through... or so it seems. But a refresh reveals that it was a fake vote after all.
So it feels like a toy. I do think it's good to make it feel significant. In my opinion don't show a vote going through when it hasn't. If the vote isn't taken with you upon signing in it isn't so bad, I think that's what people expect anyway. (But it seems like a nice bonus if it does work.)
I guess that's two different issues. The voting while not being signed in apparently needs improvement. I have to admit, I don't vote on this site very much while not signed in.
I'd misunderstood what you meant. Now I see that you're literally talking about a page refresh upon voting. My first impression is that it's too spasmic / threatening to my ability to focus but I will try it out for a couple days and revisit.
