Agora (Greek) is an open place for markets and people to assemble for
various purposes, like a town square.
Agorism
- Social philosophy advocating creating a society with voluntary
exchanges and relations between people via aspects of
counter-economics and nonviolent revolution.
Do-ocracy
- An organizational structure in which individuals choose roles and
tasks for themselves and execute them wherein responsibilities attach
to people who do the work, rather than elected or selected officials. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Do-ocracy
FOEPATCHISM
- Fair, Open, Ethical, Peaceful, Accountable, Transparent, Consistent,
Honest, Inclusive Social Management - for collaborators, communities,
families, governments, groups, homes, organizations, social media,
societies, teams, workplaces, etc. "Foe" = enemy; "patch" = correction. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/FOEPATCHISM
Libertas = autonomy, freedom, sovereignty.
Phylaxis
- (medical) The protection against infection.
- (defensive) Guarding against cultural destruction, cyber warfare,
ideological subversion, malicious infiltration, medical tyranny,
political corruption, psychological operations, wealth theft, and
weaponized migration.
Voluntaryism
- Peaceful life without rulers, yet with social rules.
- The common sense idea that all forms of human association should be voluntary...
with the assertion that any act of violence [or coercion] other than self defense,
whether by an individual or organization, is illegitimate and unlawful. - Voluntary interactions - without rulers rather than supporting and suffering
under mafia governments and corporatocracy's monopoly on violence.
This includes what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own wallets,
bedrooms, bodies, businesses, and communities. - http://Projex.Wiki/wiki/Meaningful_liberty#Voluntaryism

This sort of doesn't count for what you are asking, but I've always thought that "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof) sounded like Elvis Costello. To the point that for a year or more after I heard it on the radio for the first time, I was sure it was Elvis Costello, till I found the song in a CD store. In fact, it sort of prefigures the very large and lush production sound Costello used on the album Spike a few years later.
Closer to what you mean, The Kinks' "Dedicated Follower of Fashion" is a dead ringer for a Beatles song written by Paul. (Not that one necessarily, but Paul's vibe is pretty specific.)
IMO both of those make sense for the theme I'm going for.
There has to be some juice to sqeeze out of Blue Oyster Cult because of their variation. But I'm not sure who to claim some of their songs sound like.
I don't like Mondays
Dedicated follower of fashion
I see what you mean with The Kinks. They may have been trying to do that on purpose.
Not important, I happened to link to gvid, cause why not, I can. I'm not trying to push an expectation.
BOC has some similarities to Sweet, but that's likely just because they were contemporaries. And I can't think of any particular song that could be either band, but I'm less familiar with their catalogs than I probably should be.
True, they were contemporaries. I guess it's easy to forget that when their top song sounds completely outside of the Beatles, link. But it makes since a lot of their songs are going to sound similar when they are both 60s English boy bands, and everyone was basically trying to "do the beatles" for a while.
The Beatles never did anything quite like "Lola", though. Though I suppose that, too, is Beatle-esque.
Many compared Crowded House (ie. "Don't Dream It's Over") to the Beatles, especially John.
Obviously The Monkees' "Last Train To Clarksville" sounds like "Paperback Writer".
Many thought Klaatu's first album was a secret reunion of the Beatles.
And McCartney is on record somewhere as saying that if the Beatles stayed together, Electric Light Orchestra explored the directions they would have gone.

That almost explains the Apples In Stereo.
I feel like Lola is also pretty far outside of what the Beatles did.
This has me thinking about that episode of Petticoat Junction where they are either intentionally or unaware making fun of their time. In the episode all anyone needs to do to become a temporary sensation is make a single verse song that sounds vaguely like the Beatles.
Tongue in cheek slight at their era's youngsters, or just a documentary of their time? It isn't clear.
I guess kids making their own Beatles songs is infinitely more respectable copycat behavior than kids making anemic and poorly timed dances on tiktok. These kids wouldn't last even a second on DDR.
The older generation hated the Beatles, so I'd go with "intentional". Recall that The Flintstones had an episode with a parody of the Beatles, and hillbilly relatives of Fred who couldn't stand that "bug music".
Speaking of the Beatles, John Lennon wrote the song Yer Blues as a parody of blues music, like it represents every blues song ever in one song. Mastodon might have been trying to make a weezer parody song in the same way.
80s Stacey Q's "Two Of Hearts" sounds like early Madonna. There was one sounded like Prince. I never cared for any of those.
OK, another example comes to mind. America's first hit, "A Horse With No Name" sounds for all the world like a Neil Young song of about that time.
So much so that it's been a joke ever since, including in obscure folk comedy acts.
Tho imo that song is better than any neil wrote.
Most psychedelic trance sounds the same.
Many folks think Dean Martin's "Everybody Loves Somebody" is Frank Sinatra but his much earlier version actually flopped.
