They make a point of saying that Hitler was different because the others forced their way into power. In Hitler's case it wasn't for lack of trying. What was Hitler arrested for again? If we are asking what someone's character/nature is, what they attempt is as relevant as what they are successful at.

Also the election that Hitler won after becoming chancellor wern't the freest elections ever. Opposition parties were banned from holding rallies or campaigning.

They admit the night of the long knives, but only to dismiss it as a one off. If we mention it and dismiss it it's settled and therefore a non-data point. They claim that because he retained his own inner circle that that means no purges happened. Except when they did. They then contrast this with Stalin killing 700k civilians in purges as a direct comparison. But it isn't direct, and Hitler purged political dissents among the civilians as well, at large scale. And they also contrast it to Stalin purging the prior dictator's inner circle. Also not a comparable comparison.
