This is just one item on a long list of problems we have in the West.
There are a lot of forces applied to create the individuals and culture (with/without ethics, morals, taboos, etc.) that we live in.
Ultimately it depends on what kind of person you are, how you behave, and what you think and believe - and if society permits freedoms, including the freedom to make mistakes.
Society does not forgive mistakes; it has no empathy or compassion and is driven by envy and hatred of the successful who hide their mistakes.
Society is not a uniform mass, but a swarm of individuals.
That cloud will have more than one viewpoint, just as it has multiple influences and pressure points.
We must be our own resistance to poor culture.
Which is why I fight against Left-Wing culture taught in schools and colleges by indoctrination. Use critical thinking to change viewpoints.

I am rejected by society because I am mentally ill and have compassion and empathy, so society envies and hates me.

No, because other people notice it too. Discrimination against the mentally ill, because they expect the disabled to be in a wheel chair, blind, or deaf, mental illness is something they can't see so they hate it.

There is no threat to be banished from society anymore. In fact, you can be a drag on society now and still be supported by it. There are too many people to live by the old rules. Eventually, the people who are predisposed to follow norms will stop caring. Then we will put ourselves back into serfdom. I feel like we're voting ourselves into that now.

Hookups are great if the couple is nice and responsible
Hookups are as old as the human species
Anyone around in the 60s or 70s will know that hookups were greatly enjoyed at that time and only criticised mainly after 1981, when there were concerns about HIV and AIDs

I think this is a case where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. An incel isn’t just someone who would like to be having sex but isn’t; it’s someone bitter, entitled, with a specific set of beliefs. It’s an archetype, not just a compound word.

Generally. People say we need public school to socialize kids. There is nothing positive about a large scale government mill being kids' primary social framework.
Sure, some of the kids manage to develop natural social skills inspite of an unnatural environment. Some kids manage to find love and get married despite lacking true natural social skills.
But to the extent they do, it's owed to the resilience of human nature. A gratitude to public schools for socializing kids is certainly a mistake.

I think pure homeschooling does often have some problems both for eduction and socialization. The fact that inspite of that their standardized test scores are higher and they do better on some other metrics, despite not having access to trained teachers, shows that public schools have a lot more problems with them than we want to admit.
Another problem: centralizing in cities.
Too many fish means folks may always (try to) trade up.
Stuck in a small distant village, either you are the best guy to get the best girl or whatever else shakes out in town within the limitations - but folks will settle down, for better or worse.

It also gives males a sense of "put out or I'll just move on to someone who will." Gives males zero incentive to put any effort into a relationship.

Are beetles capable of consent? Maybe it's an open question if consent is purely a human concept used for human inter-relation.
