Hey Jason, long time, no see. I'm biased I know, but I wouldn't be that harsh on him. Never the less, he let so much go, then eventually the rules weren't even being enforced at all.

Also, I think there should be a parallel pyramid with insinuation or beating around the bush being somewhere near the bottom. Simply engaging someone that doesn't argue in good faith is a waste since you'll find yourself in the middle of the pyramid almost instantly.

He never bothered to let go of his irrational stranglehold on power. He was always the owner ultimately with full veto powers - but he could have co-developed a trusted team that could have helped co-manage the site towards much better outcomes. More heads is better than one, but his ego thought he was better than all of us.

It's also a shame he hasn't offered us a way to archive, backup, or mirror the entire site. Much effort was invested there. d3rr and I were talking about that from day one. That and so many other broken promises. Nothing ever goes perfectly to plan so I can let most of it go, but the big stuff is important. Fuck magnora7.

We need as few rules as possible, all exceptionally clear - AND we need as many guides as necessary, with as many clarifying examples as needed. Then it needs to be adheared to. Also we need community input and community participation to maintain our agreed upon rules as well as a sense of investment. If it's just another "free" service then who gives a shit? Invest your energy, time, and pride into something and belonging is earned, cultivated, and grown.

I don't know what this is referring to. Fuck socks. Also free speech - so there's no laws against trying to waste people time, consciously or not, maliciously or not, unfortunately. Best solution - ignore them. At worst, make rules/guides about slander. I liked it when there was no name-calling on SaidIt and it was enforced. It's difficult to enforce people not to be stupid. Also "being stupid" is subjective.

He hasn't been on that website in months. Idk about Reddit.

I didn't see him on Reddit Alternatives lately and not during this down time. Saidit going down got pretty unnoticed there. I ended up being the first to post about it, after quite some time of it being down. I figure people are going to go there to figure out what's going on.

Yeah I checked an hour and a half ago and didn't see anything. But I'm glad you said something.

He can put whatever effort into his site he wants. I wouldn't vilify him for it.

Looks like it's down for some people only - up for me right now (via normal browser). But I won't post there from home IP, still looping Cloudflare check via Tor.

Saidit/Cloudflare allowed me to login via Tor like a couple of times (for 5 mins) during last month. But funnily it works via normal browser right now.
