In my estimation socks should be considered a chaos-agent threat who means to do harm to SaidIt, freedom, and online communities. I'd say ban socks but then it's whack-a-mole with aliases - so it's better to simply flag his account with a warning so folks may ignore him. (SaidIt's block feature is very incomplete and until it's improved it's a failure.) This flagging might not be a bad thing to do with all users, perhaps via openly voting on attributes, though I suppose anything with enough users/aliases could be abused/weaponized, so maybe just labelled from on high with subjective benevolence.

And yet a screenshot he shared once revealed him to be a pajeet. So we know he's full of shit. I do in fact think he's a paid shill and it wouldn't surprise me if he was on a CIA payroll, although it could just as well be another organization. But Operation Mockingbird is a thing, as was Radio Free Asia. They do pay people to propagandize so it makes sense for that to carry over into the Internet age. He seems a bit too advanced to be an LLM but could be AI-assisted. You can test this by pm'ing him a link that keeps track of when it was clicked. If it's clicked within a second you've found an AI.

No canary = M7's been gagged/notified for surveillance, etc.

I hope M7 is hanging in there ok. Regardless of what others may think, he put in a valiant effort, and he outlasted most of the others.

People pondered if socks might have various controllers, but I suspect he might just have moods - especially since his selective memory would remember interactions (but not slam dunks on his idiocy).
